MASTERWORKS WELCOMES CANADA’S GOVERNOR GENERAL
The Audio-Visual Preservation Trust is pleased to announce that Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Jean-Daniel Lafond will attend the MasterWorks gala on October 26. The Governor General is Patron of The Trust.
Held for the first time in Toronto, the gala will honour 12 recordings as MasterWorks, three each from the genres of film, TV, radio and music/sound recording.
The AV Preservation Trust of Canada is a national, charitable organization dedicated to the preservation and access to Canada’s film, television, radio and music/sound recording heritage. MasterWorks is one of the AV Trust’s main vehicles for raising awareness of preservation issues. Through a unique event such as MasterWorks, the AV Trust can help ensure that cherished Canadian works from the past are not lost.
